At PRDA, our mission is:

“To carry out community-based relief, rehabilitation, and development activities that meet and address the overall social and physical needs of the people of South Sudan, with a strong focus on health and human dignity.”

Through the Presbyterian Health Science Institute (PHSI), we train qualified health professionals—especially midwives and nurses—who go on to serve in hospitals, health centers, and rural communities across South Sudan. This work is saving lives every day, particularly for mothers and children in areas where healthcare access is extremely limited.

Health in Action – Powered by PHSI

  • Training Midwives and Nurses: PHSI offers diploma programs in midwifery and nursing, equipping students with practical and professional skills.
  • Supporting Maternal & Child Health: Our graduates are deployed to hospitals and clinics to reduce maternal mortality and improve child survival.
  • Strengthening Health Systems: By training community health workers and collaborating with partners, we expand healthcare access even in remote areas.
  • Emergency Health Response: During crises, our health teams provide lifesaving care, medicine, and psychosocial support.

Our mission is not just a statement — it’s a daily practice. Here’s how we put our mission into action:

At the Presbyterian Relief and Development Agency (PRDA), our mission defines everything we do, from responding to humanitarian crises to building long-term, sustainable change in South Sudanese communities.
